Gianna is furious when her father crowns her less-capable brother Miguel as underboss. After a heated argument, she storms out and drives to her fiancé Mike's place, only to find him with another woman, Maya, who reveals she's pregnant with Mike's child.
Heartbroken, Gianna goes to a club where she meets a handsome stranger. They have a passionate encounter and she leaves him money the next morning. Her father then tells her they must go to Tuscany because Miguel has been captured by Don Alessandro after operating in his territory. At the meeting, they find Maya is Don Alessandro's daughter. Don Alessandro demands the Alessia cartel ring in exchange for Miguel. When Gianna objects, Don Alessandro offers to release Miguel and keep the ring if Gianna marries him.
Gianna is outraged that they're deciding her future without her consent, but her father seems inclined to accept the deal.
